On Saturday, May 28, Ben’s Jammin’ Art Project is organizing a Walk-a-thon and Talent Show to kick off a county -wide musical instrument and art supply drive. The instruments and art supplies collected will be strategically distributed to public and private schools, local music lesson facilitators, art rooms, and youth who have a passion for the arts but not the means. Money raised will repair donated instruments, buy additional supplies, and provide lessons.
The Albany High school marching band will lead the walk. Elementary through high school-aged musicians will entertain throughout the day. The music and art tents will be active for all to enjoy from 11-3. In addition, there will be food, local crafters, and artists. It will be a fun family day held at the grounds of the NYS Training Academy at 1134 New Scotland Rd., Albany.

Ben’s Jammin’ Art Project Benefit Concert
What a great time of music, art, and friends!!
BJAP held a benefit concert featuring 5 different bands (George Williams and Friends, Gomni, Joe Lowry and the Second Miles Blue Band, Comhaltas, and Dan Hogan). The Albany Fire and Police Departments demonstrated fire and bicycle safety. In addition there was a farmers market, food vendors, raffles with prizes donated from local businesses, bouncy and fun rides, and hands on art and music for the children.
This one day of fun produced lasting fun for many students. Eleven instruments were donated that day and are now in use in the Albany Public Schools. We also received enough crafts to fill 8 boxes. We donated 6 boxes to the Albany Girls and Boys Club and 2 to Mount Moriahs Girls club.
From the proceeds of the day we were able to pay for a lawyer to incorporate Ben’s Jammin’ Art Project as a 501 (C) (3) non-profit status.
A Big Thank You to Everyone who came out and supported us!!!
